German Corner Shop
For the exhibition “Nah und Gut”, German artists who are living in the Netherlands since a long time, were asked, to give a statement about their idea of the famous German expression “Heimweh” (home sickness). For three months I ran a small shop. The visitors could buy products which I personally brought from Germany. The choice of products was based on interviews which I had with German expatriates.
My idea was that the shop also should function as a communicative space between the colleague artists and the public in the neighbourhood.
The artists where invited to be the shopkeeper for a day and to perform an event at the space. The artist duo Roseboom – Weemen changed the interior completely to sell only sausages.
